Day #105

Mini craft fair again today! Got me some supplies including this gorgeous girl of a stamp. I got a butterfly stamp, too. After that, some novelty brads, a tape runner, two sticker sheets, some diamonties and a creepy doorstop, I ran out of money.
It was cold today and I had to do homework so I only did a bit of drawing, mainly outlining and colouring. I’m practicing for a piece of art for another competition due in July, but I want to prepare as much as possible. Prep work has never been a stong point of mine, even in high school when it was required to fill a large sketch book of ideas. I wouldn’t get marked too high because they were a quarter filled, and the end image looked nothing like my ideas beforehand. That and I can never seem to recreate my own artwork.

Day #87

I played around with my bigshot today. Trying to make something out of my limited collection of dies. On the left, I dry embossed some two colour iridescent paper (I used the red/green because I’m not a fan of it) it worked pretty well, as the stars shine red when the rest is green.

I threw bits together and stamped some tags. I didn’t do a whole lot, but played. I’d like to make paper embellishments for future cards and some scrapbooking. I wanted to make some tags, and forgot I had the tag shaped stamp, so I stamped and cut it out by hand. I’ll probably embellish them when I need to use them, and have someone in mind.
Also trying to figure out the dies I can get the most use out of, so I can do more without buying hundreds that I’ll only use once.

Day #62

Lookies what my boyfriend brought me! 😀 so nice.. and rather out of character, considering he usually complains I have too much stuff. He has a good art mind, but no desire to create, so he passes his ideas to me. He suggested I use the wooden shapes as stamps, so I’m thinking of ways to seal the wood to make it fairly non porous so it actually prints some ink instead of absorbing it all. It may be as easy as coating it in pva glue, but I’ll do some research.
I’m not sure how I’m going to design the bear yet. He’s really cute, and I want to plan something to suit him.

The company name is Suck UK. Which is a rather unfortunate name.
